We just returned from an amazing stay at Audrey's place. The communication throughout was excellent. The property itself is lovely and the hot tub is a great touch. It backs directly on to the beautiful forest of dean, with lovely walks.

Audreys retreat is lovely. The location is excellent with walks from the door . Immaculate presentation and cleanliness. Audrey was also very accommodating for our dogs . Lots of thoughtful touches . Hot tub was a great added bonus . Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend for a base to explore the Forest of Dean

We had a fantastic stay at Rowan Tree Retreat. Audrey is a brilliant host, she was on hand to deal with any issues really quickly and went out of her way to help us out. The property was great for us as a family of 3 but equally perfect for 2 couples. Really lovely welcome touches and the hottub was a proper treat. Best holiday bed we've probably ever slept in! A perfect location with forest walks in all directions right on the doorstep as well as short driving distance to loads of great attractions and outdoor activities, including Symonds Yat Rock, Puzzlewood, Forest of Dean sculpture trail and cycling a brilliant disused railway track with a stop at Mallards Pike Lake. We could have easily stayed longer and will definitely visit again.

Thankyou Audrey for being a great host. Accomodation was spotless, comfy beds, and so many thoughtful touches. Fresh bread when we arrived, a bottle of prosecco, coffee/tea/milk already there. The accomodation backs onto a great walk, wish we had brought our dog now! Will definitely look to book here again

We had a perfect few days here, we really appreciated the extra touches and how sparkling clean the house was when we arrived. The location was perfect for exploring the forest and the huge hot tub was amazing after a day of walking! The house was lovely and cozy with everything you could need when self catering, it really felt like home. Thank you for a much needed break, we can’t wait to come back again one day! Meg and Jack

We loved being able to get straight into the forest to walk and cycle - you can download a trail map for the surrounding area at (Website hidden by Airbnb) Loads of other things to do in the area, or if staying in there are DVDs/books - and the hot tub of course!

Great place and location. Dog friendly and plenty of walks/runs on the doorstep to wear them out. Can recommend the pub up the road as really friendly and great food.

I can highly recommend Audrey’s cabin in the Forest of Dean for a relaxing break. Everything was perfect. The accommodation was attractive, comfortable and had everything you would need. We particularly liked how the garden led directly into the Forest and the hot tub really gave a touch of luxury to the stay. Audrey was very helpful in her suggestions, particularly for walks for our elderly dog. On arrival finding a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge was much appreciated.

We look forward to you relaxing in our Cottage and having a lovely stay, below are a few house rules which may be subject to amendment at any time without notice:

Hot Tub

Our hot tub complies with current regulations HSG282. For health and safety reasons it is essential that you read our hot tub rules on this page before using, if you have not you may not use the hot tub.

We change the Hot Tub water on the day that guests arrive and as it is set at 38C please note it may not be ready to use until later in the evening after guests have arrived especially in cold weather. The hot tub needs regular maintenance and servicing and we cannot promise this will not need doing whilst you are staying in but we will do our best not to let this affect your stay.  There are strict rules about the use of the hot tub e.g. not wearing any lotions on the body especially fake tan cream. If these rules aren’t followed you will need to pay for cleaning of the hot tub and if required, payment for a replacement filter.

If you wish to hire a bath robe this will be £10 per person per stay. We have S/M and L/XL sizes. Please request which sizes you’d like and these will be left in your rooms.

Dog Stay Rules

This a wonderful place for a dog to holiday with beautiful walks and we hope your dogs enjoy their stay as much as you do.

We welcome dogs that are 'house trained' We accept that dogs are part of your family and if they do go on the sofa or in the bedroom please ensure you use your own throws or blankets to cover the sofa before they go on it. Please also bring your own dog basket as we do not provide this and we’re happy for your dogs to sleep in their basket in the bedroom.

If you go out, please take your dogs with you but please note that they must never  be left in the house alone.

We provide a mud daddy to use to wash your dog down. We do provide a dog bowl.

Please ensure any fouling is cleared from the garden.

Pamper parties

We do arrange pamper parties but we ask all guests to please be quiet after 11pm as we have neighbours nearby

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed inside the Cottage. If you do smoke outside please clear up any stubs before leaving.

House Rules

Please leave the cottage clean & tidy as you found it.  If there are any breakages please let us know immediately.  The garden and drive gates must always be closed as we have wild boar nearby and they can literally de-turf the lawn over night.

Please be aware of other neighbours nearby and keep the noise level down. We do not allow music outside after 11pm and if you do play it before please keep it to a reasonable noise level that would not disturb people nearby.

Apart from fair wear and tear if there is any damage inside or out reasonable charges will be incurred payable after your stay if you haven’t paid before your leave.  Charges will also be incurred for items missing e.g, bath robes.

Access

The cottage and garden is for your own enjoyment.  We have a garage in the drive where you park which we require 24/7 access to but will avoid disturbing you should we require access. We also monitor the hot tub so will pop over to check it but again we do our best not to disturb you. Occasionally we may need to do some maintenance but we will try and give you advance notice. The gas tank is filled when low so this may happen during your stay.

Security Deposit

We will take a security deposit of £200 at the time of the booking which will be refunded after you have left and the cottage checked.  If the booking is cancelled it will be refunded in full.

Cancellation By us

If for any reason we have to cancel your booking in advance due to
circumstances beyond our control for example fire, flood, exceptional weather conditions, epidemics, destruction/damage to the property you will be refunded the full amount of the booking.
If we have to terminate your holiday early for the above reasons you will be refunded part of the booking fee based on the time remaining of the booking. No additional compensation, expenses or costs will be payable.  If its something else e.g fault with the hot tub you can choose to continue your stay or request a refund or different dates (same rate).

Cancellation By You & Refund Policy

Covid Refund Guarantee - if we have a national lockdown you will receive a full refund

If you cancel more than 6 weeks in advance you will lose your booking fee and 15% deposit.

Between 6 weeks and 4 weeks before your stay there will be a 50% refund.

Between 4 weeks and 2 weeks there will be a 25% refund.
